Biography

West Milford Counseling is dedicated to supporting, strengthening, and affirming individuals and families. I believe that people have an innate sense for identifying problem areas and we will strive together to navigate through difficult situations and/or life-events. Highly skilled and experienced treatment is available for a variety of stress producing issues, such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, ADHD, trauma, as well as bi-polar spectrum disorders.

I am originally from California where I earned a Masters' degree in counseling and shortly thereafter relocated to NJ where I continued working as a therapist for the Mental Health Clinic of Passaic.

Most recently my professional goals have focused on my in-depth research into Bipolar Mood Disorder; which lead to the completion of my PhD in clinical psychology and the development of specialized treatment for mood disorders; as well as obtaining the highest level of trauma training available: certification in EMDR trauma treatment. I believe in supporting my clients as they learn how to cope effectively with their daily challenges. If trauma work is indicated, I recommend utilizing EMDR and offer the highest level of treatment available in this area.

My professional research and publication regarding parenting a child diagnosed with Bipolar Mood Disorder allows me to expertly guide adults, adolescents, and families who are experiencing difficulties in this area.

I offer knowledgeable concern and professional treatment for the GLBTQ community.
